When the effect of one factor depends of the level of another factor, the two factors are considered to have an interaction. The one-variable-at-a-time (OVAT) approach, that is to fix all the variables except the one studied, is inefficient to detect interactions. Statistical experimental designs can be run to detect all or specified interactions between factors. The NemrodW software supports computation of interactions between more than 2-level factors. The DOE software can estimate interactions of any order.
